Amazon Verified Permissions is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-East) and (US-West) Regions, AWS Israel (Tel Aviv) and Canada West (Calgary). The service provides fine-grained authorization for the applications that you build, allowing you to implement permissions as policies rather than application code. Your application calls Verified Permissions to authorize access to APIs and resources managed by the application.
By moving authorization logic out of the application code into policy stores, managed by Verified Permissions, organizations can improve their security posture and simplify audits. Development teams can improve application security and build faster. The service manages centralized policy stores, with reusable policy templates, policy testing, and audit logging. It provides a scalable, highly available policy evaluation service that can be called continually by your application for authorization decisions. You can use Verified Permissions with your existing identity provider.
With this Region expansion, Verified Permissions is now available in 21 regions globally, including US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), AWS GovCloud (US-East), AWS GovCloud (US-West), Canada (Central), Canada West (Calgary), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Osaka), AWS Israel (Tel Aviv) and South America (São Paulo).
