Starting today, you can use AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) to migrate Linux servers with UEFI boot mode.
You now have the option to control the boot mode when migrating Linux servers, and choose Legacy BIOS or UEFI according to your needs. By default, the service will match your source boot mode and retain it during the migration, enabling you to swiftly and effortlessly migrate and launch test instances without the need for additional configuration.
Additionally, you can now migrate servers running Rocky 9, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4 and those using kernel versions up to 6.5.ENnbsp;
Application Migration Service minimizes time-intensive, error-prone manual processes by automating the conversion of your source servers to run natively on AWS. It also helps simplify modernization of your migrated applications by allowing you to select preconfigured and custom optimization options during migration.
These features are now available in all of the AWS Regions where AWS Application Migration Service is available. Access the AWS Regional Services List for the most up-to-date availability information.
To start using Application Migration Service for free, sign in through the AWS Management Console. For more information, visit the Application Migration Service product page or documentation.
