Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2022 CU9 for Web, Standard, Enterprise and Developer Editions. You can now use SQL Server 2022 features such as Query Store enhancements, Parameter Sensitive Plan optimization, and SQL Server Ledger on your Amazon RDS for SQL Server DB instances. To create a new Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server instance with SQL Server 2022, use the "Create Database" wizard in the Amazon RDS Console, choose SQL Server, select "RDS Custom for SQL Server" and select an engine with “SQL Server 2022” as the DB Engine Version.
Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server is a managed database service that allows customization of the underlying operating system and includes the ability to bring your own licensed SQL Server media or use SQL Server Developer Edition.
