Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports TempDB configuration replication for Multi-AZ database instances. With this new feature enabled, we will synchronize TempDB file configurations on the primary host, such as type, name, physical_name, size, max_size, growth, and is_percent_growth, with the secondary host in a Multi-AZ configuration.ENnbsp;
Customers can enhance their database instance’s performance by adjusting the TempDB configuration. Yet, it’s crucial to apply these configuration changes to both primary and secondary hosts for Multi-AZ instances. Failing to do so might lead to unexpected database performance following a failover. With this feature, customers only need to modify the TempDB configuration on their primary database host to verify the anticipated performance of their Multi-AZ instances after database failover. For more details about how to enable this feature, see Accessing the tempdb database on Microsoft SQL Server DB instances on Amazon RDS.
Amazon RDS makes it simple to set up, operate, and scale SQL Server deployments in the cloud. See Amazon RDS for SQL Server Pricing for up-to-date pricing of instances, storage, data transfer and regional availability.
