AmazonENnbsp;EMR Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) that makes it easy for data scientists and data engineers to develop, visualize, and debug big data and analytics applications written in PySpark, Python, Scala, and R. Today, we are excited to announce that you can now use customer managed keys for EMR Studio workspace storage.
In an EMR Studio, you can create and configure different Workspaces to organize and run notebooks. These Workspaces store notebooks and related files in your specified Amazon S3 bucket. These files are encrypted by default using server-side encryption with Amazon S3 managed keys (SSE-S3) as the base level of encryption. Now, you also have the option to use customer managed KMS keys to encrypt these files. You can begin using customer managed keys in the AWS Management Console or through the AWS CLI/SDK, when creating or updating an EMR Studio.
This feature is now available in all regions where EMR Studio is available.
To learn more using customer managed keys for workspace storage in EMR Studio, you can read in the Amazon EMR Management Guide.
