Amazon EventBridge now supports 22 additional Amazon CloudWatch metrics that enable you to monitor the performance of your event buses and proactively identify when you may need to increase your service quotas. Publishing events to an event bus now includes metrics such as API latency, event payload size, as well as number of successful, failed, and throttled events. For invocations, where EventBridge delivers an event to a target, such as AWS Lambda, new metrics provide visibility into retries, throttling, and end-to-end latency including the time it takes for a target to respond. These metrics provide deeper insight into your event-driven applications, and allow you to quickly identify and resolve issues as they arise.
Amazon EventBridge Event Bus is a serverless event router that enables you to create highly scalable event-driven applications by routing events between your own applications, third-party SaaS applications, and other AWS services. You can set up rules to determine where to send your events, allowing for applications to react to changes in your systems as they occur. Event Buses make it easier to build event-driven applications by facilitating event ingestion, delivery, security, authorization, and error handling.
Support for additional Event Bus metrics is now available at no additional cost in the following regions: US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon and N. California), Europe (Ireland and Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, and Sydney), and Middle East (Bahrain) with the remaining regions to follow in the coming days.
