Dataviews, a new feature of Amazon FinSpace with Managed kdb Insights, enable customers to create high-performance database caches which can be shared by multiple clusters and reduce overall infrastructure costs for kdb environments.
For example, capital markets customers frequently need to access recently-added trade execution data in support of their settlement and compliance processes. With a Dataview, customers can place data from the most recent month onto high performance disk for faster access, while still keeping older data accessible from the database’s object store layer where it can be used for less time-sensitive historical queries. Because the most recent month’s data cached on the high performance disk is frequently used by different process running on different Managed kdb clusters, the ability to share data means that a single set of cached data can be used by all the clusters.
Dataviews are available in all AWS regions where Amazon FinSpace with Managed kdb Insights is available.
